Red Sangria
May 19, 2011
Before I get to my delicious sangria recipe, that I’m sure has you all drooling, I’d like to briefly share some somewhat exciting news about Allison Eats. Today I updated my URL to the much shorter and sweeter allisoneats.com! How exciting! Make sure you all fix up your bookmarks kiddies!

Now onto the drink! This is a basic red sangria recipe that I’ve spruced up a tad using some pear liquor I found buried in our liquor cabinet (in a fancy pear-shaped bottle, at that!). Its super easy to make, and even more so because you have to prepare it a day ahead, so come party time all you have to do is add the club soda and choose which color straw you’d like to sip this sweet nectar from.
You Will Need
- 2 bottles of red wine – I used Rioja, since this is a Spanish treat
- Juice of 2 oranges
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 2 Oranges, sliced
- 4 peaches, cubed
- 1/2 cup simple syrup
- 1/2 cup pear liquor
- 2 cups club soda
Combine all ingredients in pitchers except for the soda. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Before serving, add club soda and enjoy!

My doctor would not approve, but I certainly do 🙂 Sangria is the best medicine.
“Everything I eat has been proved by some doctor or other to be a deadly poison, and everything I don’t eat has been proved to be indispensable for life. But I go marching on. ” ~George Bernard Shaw
